Glaze & Paint: The iridescent lusterware glaze remains bright and vibrant but does show signs of age, preowned gentle use. This is a beautiful burgundy pink and gold mid-century vintage porcelain teacup and saucer set manufactured by Napco (National Potteries Co.) in Japan. This elegant footed cup features an eye-catching striped pattern alternating between a rich, deep burgundy (magenta) and a shimmering pearlescent white lusterware finish. The interior of the cup is completely coated in a beautiful iridescent, pearl-like glaze that catches the light beautifully. There are crazing/flea bite marks due to age. Please see photographs. The matching saucer is featuring an intricate, pierced reticulated (latticework) border. Both pieces are beautifully accented with ornate gold filigree detailing, gold snowflakes, and a gilded, scalloped rim. Some of the gold is fading as seen in photograph. Overall: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or hairline fractures.
