A special hand-painted porcelain Dresden (Germany) coffee cup and saucer set in an unusual rectangular shape with hand-painted panels, alternating between scenes of courting couples and summer floral sprays upon a blue glazed ground, framed by hand-gilded scrolling decoration.  Both the cup and saucer have hand-painted blue underglaze maker's marks of a 'Crown' above 'Dresden', which dates the set to the second half of the 19th century. Material: porcelain with hand painted enamel decoration and gilt accents Maker: unknown, but by one of the porcelain companies in Dresden, Germany Age: circa 1890 Size: saucer - 4 3/8 in length x 4 in. width x 7/8 in. depth.  Cup: 3 in. across handle x 1 5/8 in. x 2 1/4 in. ht.     Total weight: 5 1/2 ozs.
