German Footed Oval Basket Swing Handle 11 Loth Silver 1820 Antique German 11 Loth (.687) silver oval form basket, set into figural footed frame, featuring grape bunches, stylized horses and male masks along the border. 4 feet has shell-shaped finials, attached to oval base. Basket has swing handle, decorated with applied leaves. c. 1820. This whimsical basket is 6" long, 3 1/2" wide and 2" tall (without the foot), total height is 4 7/8", handle is 2 3/4" tall. It weighs 231.2 grams or 7.45 ozs Troy. 3 of 4 horse figures have one leg missing. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
