There are a few dings and scratches present in the wood which i feel are not serious. The cradle has a cotton mattress which was present when the piece was aquired. The cradle is all square nail construction and appears solid. This cradle was discovered in Ohio by a former owner many years ago. It bears the name of the girl  for whom it was made Ellen L.Yeomans and the date  1850. The name L.J.Hix probably the maker of the cradle also appears. The piece is in good overall condition bearing a varnished surface on poplar wood. There are a few dings and scratches present in the wood which i feel are not serious. The cradle has a cotton mattress which was present when the piece was aquired. The cradle is all square nail construction and appears solid.
