RETIRED SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL BABY SPARROW IN A SUMMER MEADOW METAL BEAK OPEN #7650 This adorable Austrian crystal baby sparrow was designed by Max Schreck.   It was introduced in 1979 and retired in 1991. She is a one of the original members in the Swarovski "Mini Zoo" set.  The others that I know of included a miniature of each of the following: duck, mouse, owl, chick and rabbit. Some have said that it belongs to the broader "Meadow Spring" collection. This delicately crafted charmer is clearly marked with the Swarovski acid mark block logo on the bottom, as shown on the bottom. Its brilliance is brought out because it's multi faceted.   Her black eyes and silver tone metal beak and faceted crystal tail feather make it all the cuter.  These adorable miniature collections that Swarovski has created make great gifts for those people that have limited space and like sparkling things.  BEFORE PACKING so that this crystal figurine makes it safely from us to you, it is approximately 1 1/4” long, 1 1/8” wide, 1” high and less than one pound. Daniel Swarovski founded Swarovski in 1895  in Wattens, Austria. He invented a very special electric machine for cutting crystal, allowing for more accurate and affordable crystal.   They have always been known for their luxurious, precision cut crystal. The jewelry his company made resembled diamonds they were so brilliant, which is what Daniel wanted.  He wanted everyone to be able to afford the diamond look.  Now a global company, the sixth generation of the Swarovski family still manages the company their ancestor started over 130 years ago.  Although in pristine condition, this little sparrow does not come with a box or paperwork.
