Vintage Mexican Oaxacan Black Clay Small Ollas Pot - Vase. Made from burnished black clay, these folk art pieces are made using the traditional clay collected in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The black clay is formed and fired, they are then often burnished (rubbed) to form a somewhat polished surface. This clay is used to make a variety of folk art objects in the region, from utilitarian to ornamental. This sweet little Black Clay Olla (Mexican Pot) is in great vintage shape, with a beautiful sheen on the Black Clay. The small pot measures about 3” inches tall, 2½” inches at the widest point with a mouth opening of about an inch.
