Antique Von Schierholz Plaue German Rococo Dresden Style Porcelain Putti Centerpiece A magnificent example of late 19th/early 20th-century German porcelain artistry, this large centerpiece compote was produced by the renowned factory of C.G. Schierholz & Sohn in Plaue, Thuringia.  Created in the popular Rococo Revival style, often referred to as "Dresden Style", the piece exudes elegance and intricate detail.  It is an exceptional decorative item for collectors of fine antique porcelain. Maker's Mark & History: The underside of the bases fewatures an underglaze blue cross-htach mark.  This specific mark was the factory's earliest and was used between approximately 1865 and 1907, helping to accurately date the item to the Victorian or Edwardian era.  A red production or decorator number "25" is also present. Features: - Design: The piece features a deep, reticulated (openwork) basket bowl, heavily encrusted with hand-applied colorful roses and green leaves. - Base: The sturdy, scrolled pedestal base is adorned with three charming putti (cherub) figures walking among the flowers, supporting the main bowl structure. - Craftsmanship: Known for its elaborate and highly detailed figural and floral work, this piece showcases the high-quality craftsmanship associated with the Schierholz factory.
