Two decorative brass swing handles are mounted to incised brass fittings, giving the piece an especially attractive Arts & Crafts / Old World appearance. Beautiful antique handcrafted copper cachepot or small jardinière dating to approximately the late 19th to early 20th century. Constructed from hand-worked copper with a rolled rim, visible traditional seams and wonderful aged surface character. Two decorative brass swing handles are mounted to incised brass fittings, giving the piece an especially attractive Arts & Crafts / Old World appearance. The copper has developed a rich warm brown patina with scattered green verdigris, oxidation, scratches, small dents and surface wear consistent with considerable age. The irregularities in the rim and construction are part of its handmade character. Approximately 3 1/2" tall based on the photos. Please refer to photographs for overall diameter and exact condition. Unmarked as far as observed. Perfect as a small planter/cachepot, decorative vessel, tabletop accent or addition to an antique copper collection. Condition: Antique pre-owned condition with substantial natural patina, oxidation, verdigris, surface scratches, minor dents and age-related wear. No attempt has been made to polish or restore it.
