Set of two Kosta Boda Tower Candlesticks designed by world-renowned glass artist Bertil Vallien circa 1996. The only flaw I found was a tiny flea bite on the corner of one about halfway up the column. Set of two Kosta Boda Tower Candlesticks designed by world-renowned glass artist Bertil Vallien circa 1996.   This series came in three different sizes, approximately 12.5", 14.5" and 17.5"  This pair is the middle or 14.5" size (even though they are slightly taller at 14.75")  The design I believe is supposed to look like a tower of ice with trapped air bubbles and ridges.  The bubbles catch the light and look like bubble rising from deep in the ocean.  An interesting feature of these candle holders are the removable and adjustable bobech (used the catch candle drips).  The bobeche can be repositioned by the use of a rubber ring or gasket which can slide up and down the candlesticks to whatever height is desired.  Both candlesticks are fully signed on the bottoms and have their original Kosta Boda stickers.  No original boxes are included. Condition notes: The candlesticks are in very good vintage condition.  The only flaw I found was a tiny flea bite on the corner of one about halfway up the column.  I have circled it in the last photos.  Luckily because of the nature of these candlesticks, it is almost impossible to see.  I found it by feel.  The blue metal bobeche are in good condition with a little wear and some fine scratches.  There may be some wax residue in the candle cups. Approximate measurements: Height: 14.75" Overall width & depth: 3-3/4" Width & depth of the column: 1-3/4" Weight: 6 pounds 3 ounces & 6 pounds, 4.2 ounces for a total of 12 pounds 7.2 ounces before packaging. Because of the size and weight of this item, it cannot be combined with other items for shipping.
