Looks like it was painted yesterday. The plate is impressed with the Fukagawa mark. See photos. Produced in the Arita region, this style of porcelain is named after the port of Imari. This specific design follows the Meiji era revival of the Kinrande style, which incorporates heavy gilding and elaborate floral panels. The Fukagawa family, who established their company in 1894, were purveyors to the Japanese Imperial Household and are renowned for this vibrant palette. Made 1890-1910 in Japan Materials: Porcelain, Cobalt Blue Underglaze, Polychrome Enamel, Gold Leaf Excellent condition with minimal wear to the gold edges and no visible chips, cracks, or crazing.
