(Apologies for the reflective glare in the photos!). Vintage yunomi (tea cup) -- or perhaps a large sake cup (guinomi) -- handmade in Karatsu, Japan, featuring a sea cucumber glaze. A very fine example of everyday tea ceremony items in the Karatsu-yaki tradition. Potter is unidentified, although a potter's mark may be present in the center of the base as depicted in the last three photos. Owned for many years, but never used by present owner. No obvious chips, cracks or other damage. Excellent condition! Measures approx. 2 1/2" high x 2 3/4" diameter at rim.
