This piece was purchased in Bangkok, Thailand over 25 years ago in a high end jewelry shop. It is stamped "THAILAND" on back and behaves as sterling silver in metal tests, but lacks explicit 925 stamp. Thailand is one of the world's largest exporters of fine sterling silver jewelry. Thailand's commercial jewelry export industry strictly regulates precious metals such that something stamped "THAILAND" are almost universally 925 sterling silver. It is common for Thai workshops to stamp only the country of origin on smaller back plates due to space constraints. This piece was worn infrequently and has been in a box for over 15 years.
