Produced from 2008 to 2021 , it combined a lighter, modern silhouette with traditional Irish craftsmanship.  History and Background The Original Colleen: The classic Colleen pattern was first introduced by Waterford Crystal in the mid-20th century (commonly cited around 1953/1968). Named after the Gaelic word for a young girl or lass ( colleen ), it became one of the brand's most intricate and beloved designs, famous for its signature rows of oval thumbprint cuts paired with lower diamond cross-hatching.   The Essence Evolution: Waterford introduced the Essence variation line to offer a transition toward modern tablescapes.
