This Japanese Imari scalloped plate is a traditional and decorative piece possibly made for export. The multi-color dish showcases intricate designs. decorated with gold on cobalt blue (inrade), others with elaborate patterns in iron red, green and blue paint on white ground. Some of the scallop-fluted panels are  decorated with gold on cobalt blue (inrade), others with elaborate patterns in iron red, green and blue paint on white ground. The center with roundel is surrounded by symmetrically arranged vase and flower shapes and garlands.  The back sides are beautifully decorated with red and blue flowers and vines.  I believe it to be of the Meiji period. (Dimensions: diameter: 9 3/4 inches, 24 .5 cm; height: 1 1/2 inches, 3.5 cm.) Condition: Condition is age appropriate with some wear to the gold especially in the center and a few light scratches.
