Nor could I collect them even if I did know the proper amounts. My mother adored Russian decorative items and collected a lot of very nice boxes, matryoshka, and eggs from the 1980s through the 1990s. Mom had a great eye for quality items, too, and bought them from Russian stores in Denver and Las Vegas. I like them myself and wouldn't normally sell them, but either my cats or the dry air here or both conspired to destroy two of the boxes, and I've reluctantly decided that I'd rather sell them than see more broken. This small box depicts a scene from the Tale of Tsar Saltan, with the Tsar inspecting the magical squirrel. The box measures 3 1/2" long, 2 3/8" wide, and almost 1 1/4" high.
