View Vintage Wolin BIRD PAIR CANDLE HOLDERS - 1950s, Japan, Beige/Dark Brown, Ceramic with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. They were produced by Wolin in Japan during the early 1950s. They are now being sold as part of an estate sale. One bird stands tall with his crest lifted up as if keeping watch. The second bird is a little smaller, has her crest laying flat and perches low on her tree stump. Vintage Wolin PAIR of BIRD FIGURE CANDLE HOLDERS - 1950s, made in Japan - These vintage ceramic bird figurines are made in the shape of a pair of birds each perched on a tree stump. One bird stands tall with his crest lifted up as if keeping watch. The second bird is a little smaller, has her crest laying flat and perches low on her tree stump. The markings on these birds look like they might be either a pair of Cardinals or Blue Jays. They probably picked the tree stumps they've perched on in order to eat the berries growing there. The candle holders are made to look like a large leafy plant and each has a ridge inside, just below the top edge, to hold a 1" candle (taper) secure. The each bird is about 4 inches tall and about 3.5 inches wide.   They were produced by Wolin in Japan during the early 1950s.  These candle holders are  in great condition with minimal signs of wear and no chips or scratches. They were purchased new for decoration and don't appear to have ever been used to hold candles. They are now  being sold as part of an estate sale.
