Demartine & Cie. The G. Demartine & Cie factory was founded in 1884 in Limoges, France. They produced and decorated their own porcelain. Their work was so well respected that other factories sent their blanks to be hand decorated by the Demartine artists. Some of the studio artists were Messrs Lagarde, Planehay and Chamel. This piece is not signed. Demartine & Cie was in business until 1906. This serving bowl is framed with generous gilding. The colors are vivid. The flowers are poppies and lilac vines. The edging is an uneven scallop. On the back there is a number: Limoges France, Avenir Condition: no chips, cracks or hairlines.
