THOUGH IT DOES HAVE A DENT IN THE BOTTOM THOUGH IT IS NOT A LEAKING DENT. I know that may not be the case. having purpose would be wonderful for this antique. I am not very well versed in this genre.. 😔 so I do have the power of the internet to help me discover what it is where it came from and what its value is relative to other such items.. should I be incorrect about any of these assumptions or conclusions please let me know if you think I am somehow or other misled by the internet ☺️... SO MY RESEARCH TELLS ME THIS IS A POST VICTORIAN EDWARDIAN TEAPOT MADE SOME TIME IN THE BEGINNING OF THE 1900S. IT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT ANY MOMENT THAT I CAN TELL.. THOUGH IT DOES HAVE A DENT IN THE BOTTOM THOUGH IT IS NOT A LEAKING DENT.. I AM SURE THAT THE DENT OCCURRED WENT ONE WIFE STRUCK ONE HUSBAND DIRECTLY AND PURPOSEFULLY IN THE HEAD FOR NOT BEING HOME ON TIME FOR DINNER! I know that may not be the case.. the internet did not guide me to that conclusion.. but my nutty imagination let me that way and I couldn't keep it inside. 🙆😁 this is a rare handle type. I would imagine it is still quite usable to heat up water on your call / wood stove.. or it would make a wonderful humidifier on your fireplace stove as well! having purpose would be wonderful for this antique.. though if one considers it pleasing to the eye and believes that it should more distinguishedly serve as household decor.. that's fine also!.. which leads me to believe that this would make a wonderful vase as well! I think in my heart that if it has a consciousness.. it would enjoy that mostly as I am sure in its past it has served enough time sitting on a hot stove. PS.
