Signed by Sozan and bearing the Shimazu clan cross mark (see photos for details). Japanese Meiji period (1868–1912) Satsuma lidded jar, finely decorated with a rich array of floral, symbolic, and ornamental designs. The piece showcases exceptional detail and craftsmanship, characteristic of high-quality Satsuma ware. The decoration includes intricate scenes with aristocratic figures, butterflies, birds, waves, and elaborate floral motifs. A decorative screen motif features raised white enamel, adding depth and texture to the design. Signed by Sozan and bearing the Shimazu clan cross mark (see photos for details).
