Vintage 1970s Handmade Scrappy Patchwork Quilt / Coverlet (78" x 101") Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic mid-to-late 20th-century handmade patchwork quilt. This piece features a classic "postage stamp" grid design built entirely from vibrant retro textile remnants, showcasing an incredible mix of 1970s florals, mod psychedelics, woven plaids, flannels, and ginghams. The blanket is structurally unique with custom modified/tapered top corners, which were traditionally tailored to drape flawlessly around vintage footboards or bedposts. It is machine-pieced for durability and secured using traditional hand-tied yarn/thread tufts. Construction & Weight Details: Summer-Weight Coverlet: This is a lightweight quilt that consists of the patchwork top layer machine-sewn and tied directly to a flat backing fabric (resembling a soft vintage bedsheet). It features no heavy inner batting/filler, making it excellent for warm weather use, layered bedding, or as a decorative throw. Dimensions: Width: 78 inches | Length: 101 inches. (Generous drape for a Double/Full bed, or fits beautifully as a top-of-bed coverlet on a Queen mattress). Condition Report: This is a genuine, well-loved vintage item with wonderful character. The overall structure, perimeter binding, and backing are intact and robust. Please Note: There is a few localized areas of the fabric degradation on a central pastel paisley square where the edges have unraveled and frayed (clearly detailed in the macro photograph).
