It is a stunning piece of glassware made in the United States by the renowned brand Fenton Art Glass and made from 1948 to 1950. For reference it is mentioned in Fenton Glass, the Second Twenty-Five Years by William Heacock. This round footed cake plate features a beautiful Diamond Lace pattern with a single Hobnail inside of a Diamond border. Made in French Opalescent (aka white opalescent) with an Aqua Blue Crest that is crimped into a ruffled ribbon rim. It is Fenton pattern # 1948. Measuring 13.5" in diameter and standing 2.5" high, this vintage low pedestal cake stand is perfect for all occasions and adds a touch of elegance to any table setting. In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratching on the plate surface. Typical of handmade glass from this era, the cake plate has a few bubbles in the glass and what appears to be an imperfection in the pressing of the crimp when it was made.
