I believe this may be a type 2 with a u-shaped lateral lever on the frog. Everything is old but in really nice shape. I just cleaned it up a little bit not too heavy and it has the typical old age defects of scratches and little dings, typical of a plane its age. Hi there, here is a Union transitional number 35 smoothing plane in pretty darn good condition for its age. I bought this many years ago and thought I was going to keep it and use it but left it packed up and forgot all about it. I believe this may be a type 2 with a u-shaped lateral lever on the frog. The iron says Union manufacturing company and that is actually the only marking on this plane. I do know that at times Union didn't mark their planes on the body for whatever reason. It is approximately 10 to 10.25 inches in length, and the blade is definitely 2 in wide. Everything is old but in really nice shape. It could be used if you wanted to but you don't see these old planes like this, & it was either not used or there was very little use to it at all. I just cleaned it up a little bit not too heavy and it has the typical old age defects of scratches and little dings, typical of a plane its age.
