Charming vintage Japanese cardboard putz house with a wonderfully simple old-fashioned Christmas look.  Circa 1930's This small house features deep red textured “coconut” finish walls , a pale green roof heavily covered with white snowy mica/coconut material, and a colorful printed paper door. A small rectangular window opening is located beside the door, with a larger round opening on the back that would have allowed light to illuminate the house as part of a Christmas village display. The underside has a faint purple oval stamp . Although the wording is difficult to make out clearly now, this style of oval stamp is documented on early Japanese putz houses marked “Made in Japan.” Similar coconut-finish Japanese houses date to approximately the 1930s. Measures approximately 2 3/4" long x 1 7/8" wide x 2" tall . Condition: Displays nicely but shows age consistent with a delicate vintage cardboard Christmas decoration. There is wear and scattered loss to the textured coconut/mica finish, discoloration and soiling, edge wear, and some age-related waviness/warping to the roof and base. The window openings are open/dark as shown. The underside stamp is quite faded. Please examine all photos carefully for the exact condition and completeness.
