Neither cap appears to be marked, so I am describing the origin based on comparison with known examples rather than a visible maker's mark. Wonderful pair of vintage mercury glass carousel / merry-go-round Christmas ornaments, each measuring approximately 2 1/2" tall. These charming ornaments are the same carousel form in two different color combinations. One features a deep red roof and base, while the other has a dark green roof and base. Both have silvered sides decorated with colorful hand-painted circus/carousel animals including horses and other animals around the perimeter. The molded glass roofs have raised panel details that give them the look of miniature circus tents or merry-go-round canopies. Both retain their metal caps and hanging loops. These closely match vintage West German hand-blown carousel ornaments dating to the mid-20th century, particularly examples generally attributed to the 1950s. Neither cap appears to be marked, so I am describing the origin based on comparison with known examples rather than a visible maker's mark. Condition: Good vintage condition overall with age-related wear. There is scattered paint loss, rubbing, scratches and wear to the silvering/finish, particularly around the roofs, edges and painted decoration. The green ornament retains an old piece of hanging string. I do not see any obvious major cracks or breaks in the glass.
