Vintage Studio Pottery Lidded Casserole Artist Signed Stoneware MCM Beautiful vintage artist-signed studio pottery covered casserole / serving bowl featuring a rich earthy brown and amber glaze with expressive dark brushwork and small turquoise-blue glaze accents. This substantial wheel-thrown stoneware piece has a fitted domed lid with a large ribbed arched handle, coordinating applied side handles, and an attractive warm glazed interior. The casserole with lid weighs approximately 4 lb 2 oz, giving it a substantial, heavy handmade feel. The variation in color, speckling, glaze movement, and surface texture is characteristic of handmade studio pottery and gives the piece a wonderful one-of-a-kind appearance. The underside is hand-incised with an artist’s signature or maker’s mark.
