It is signed in the lower right corner with the artists initials (SRG '75) and signed and dated 1975 on the back. It was given as a gift for Christmas. For Georgia and Billy Ford. The large oval frames the crewel work, which is built on a textured avocado green fabric. The stitchwork is nice and steady and the colors are still vibrant. The frame is a dark green/gold wood with flecks of black. There were a few spots I touched up with a wood pen, otherwise the frame is in beautiful shape as well. The back of the frame has a couple of water spots. They do not go through to the fabric or mat. There's no sign of mildew and the painting has no odor, either of smoke or mold. So while the stains look a bit extreme, please know they are on the surface of the paper backing only and do not impact the artwork. It has a thin twisted wire for hanging.
