They are constructed using thick coils of natural grass stalks bound tightly with decorative strips of dark blue, light blue, and cream plastic—a technique popularized by West African artisans. The large basket has some plastic flaking due to its age and the knob on top of it is loose, could use a little hot glue but still a beautiful set.
