The rich cobalt outer layer has been deeply cut back through to clear crystal in geometric, leaf, fan and lattice-style motifs, creating the dramatic jewel-like contrast prized in traditional Bohemian and Central European crystal. Similar glass was produced throughout Bohemia/Czechoslovakia and Germany during the mid-20th century. No definitive factory signature has been confirmed, so this piece is being represented conservatively as vintage European / Bohemian-style cut-to-clear crystal rather than attributed to a specific premium maker.
