Was the possession of a major basket collector and Author. This was from his estate sale. This beautifully crafted basket is hand-woven and very old. Label on bottom is mostly in tact, but is missing chunks. Antique Hopi Third Mesa Indian Woven Peach Basket.   Was the possession of a major basket collector and Author. He edited a publication regarding Native American basketry and left a huge collection.  This was from his estate sale.  Height 9" Base diameter 7 1/4" Brim diameter 11 3/8" This beautifully crafted basket is hand-woven and very old. Exact age is unknown, but is third mesa Hopi, and originally  was purchased from a boutique in Mesa AZ that closed its doors in the early 1900's.     Label on bottom is mostly in tact, but is missing chunks. Has some warping and deformation from age, and a few spots where the weave has begun to fray. Base shows some damage (See enlarged photos). Overall in reasonably good condition. Condition: Used.
