His left hand and arm are around the top point of the star to maintain his balance as he sits on the (as you look at the front) left point of the star. This Chris Mouse ornament is cute enough without using the light attachment. But with the light it becomes spectacular! Chris is holding onto the translucent gold-yellow star while he polishes it with the green cloth in his right hand. His left hand and arm are around the top point of the star to maintain his balance as he sits on the (as you look at the front) left point of the star. An additional yellow painted star is in the center of the larger translucent star and has 1988 printed on it with red ink. Chris is dressed in a long sleeve light blue night shirt, with a red Santa hat with white pompom on the end on his head. Chris' ears are protruding on either side of the hat and his leather strip tail hangs down the back of the star. In the center of the back of the star is a metal opening that is designed to place the included light pigtail in to cause the star to glow. In the first couple photos you see this effect. I just used a light from the miniature set that is on my tree. Complete instructions are included in the box and on the back of the box also. From the top of Chris' head to the low point of the star is about 2 1/2 inches, the distance from one point to the other is about 2 1/4 inches and from the metal holder in the back to the dated star on the front is close to 1 1/4 inches.
