There are spots on the surface, more on one than the other. Hanger and arms are riveted to base. The candle holder portion is on pins, you can squeeze it and remove it from the arms. Shield portion is 6” by 5”. I’d tend to call these 2 candle holders more medieval than nautical, a medieval look was my plan for them when I picked them up years ago, but maybe in an old ship. The metal has an etched, I believe, finish giving it sort of a wood look.  I haven’t polished them, I prefer the old patina over a polished look, and as that’s harder to reverse I will that that to you. There are spots on the surface, more on one than the other.
