View Vintage Mt. Fuji Waterfront Japan Porcelain Tea Service for 6 (21 pieces) with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. My best guess for age would be mid-1950s, a gift to my family from a relative stationed in Japan. Backstamp is a red oval with the word JAPAN bordered by horizontal lines top and bottom. Six luncheon plates (7-1/2”) with minor edgewear. All 21 pieces in this tea set feature a scene of the Mt. Fuji waterfront, with sailboats, gulls, and thatched cottages in soft pastel colors, surrounded by slender trees and leaves in gold. My best guess for age would be mid-1950s, a gift to my family from a relative stationed in Japan. Backstamp is a red oval with the word JAPAN bordered by horizontal lines top and bottom. Light wear on all pieces as expected with age and use, but otherwise in very nice condition with no chips or cracks noted. Teapot with lid (5-1/2” x 8-1/2”); creamer (3-1/2” x 4-1/4”); Double-handled sugar (4-1/2” x 5-3/4”), all clean inside. Six cups (3-3/4” x 2-1/4”) and saucers (5-1/2”) worn as shown in detail photos. Six luncheon plates (7-1/2”) with minor edgewear. Small dark spots on one plate and some raised portions (seagulls) are worn or discolored. Small plastic/wood rack included for cup storage.
