View Vintage Sterling Morpho Butterfly Wing Screw Back Earrings Hand Painted Scene with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Hand painted on top of that is a tropical scene showing the sun setting over the beach with palm trees. Screw backs are sterling silver. If water or any other liquid gets into the piece and onto the wing, the wing will lose its beautiful blue color. Gorgeous vintage hand painted Morpho butterfly wing screw back earrings.  The wings of the Morpho butterfly, found mainly in South American but raised on "farms" in Europe during the heyday of butterfly wing jewelry, imparts the lovely iridescent blue background.  Hand painted on top of that is a tropical scene showing the sun setting over the beach with palm trees.  BEAUTIFUL!  Screw backs are sterling silver.  Fantastic vintage find. Note: Never EVER put any vintage butterfly wing jewelry into water or silver cleaner and don't get it wet, i.e. don't wear it in the shower.  If water or any other liquid gets into the piece and onto the wing, the wing will lose its beautiful blue color. Vintage 1930's era Designer Brand - None, unmarked.   Measurements - The earrings are about 5/8" across. Condition is very good vintage.    Comes in a small box, perfect for gift giving.
