The soles and stitching are intact. Interior retains the Dehner’s Omaha maker’s stamp. Likely dating to the early 1930s, when Traub held the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. A unique piece of interwar / WWII-era U.S. officer gear with direct provenance. Estate find. These belonged to Capt. David W. Traub, whose name is stamped inside along with “12496.” Traub was a U.S. Army officer who later rose to Lieutenant General and served as a pivotal logistics officer for D-Day in WWII. They show expected wear from age and use, with creasing, scuffs, and patina throughout, but remain structurally solid. The soles and stitching are intact.
