VTG 90's “Kugel Style” Christmas Ornament Silver Crackle Glass Onion Shape This is a pre-owned "Kugel Style" vintage ornament in good condition. Do expect signs of wear consistent with age such as fading, patina, or  desilvering*. The ornament was from a fancy estate sale and had been in the family since the 1990’s. I have limited information on the manufacturer other than it is a reproduction / celebration of original Kugel Ornaments from 19Th Century Germany.   *The black marks on a silver crackle glass ornament, often found on vintage kugel-style pieces, are caused by the degradation of the silvering layer inside the glass. The black marks are called tarnish, silver sulfide, or desilvering and a normal part of the aging process for this style of ornament, which is a type of mercury glass.    The ornament is intact and has a good weight to it. It is sturdy. I am selling it as an individual, but feel free to contact me for other similar type ornaments I may have in stock.
