I always suggest sharpening to get it back to an optimal cutting edge. This plane has been lightly cleaned and is in excellent user condition. The cutter also reads: STANLEY and it has a lot of life left, it measures: 4-1/2" x 2-7/8". I always suggest sharpening to get it back to an optimal cutting edge. The rosewood tote has a small nick off tip (see close-up).  The knob i in fine condition, with no cracks or splits. It weighs 3lbs 10oz.
