View Antique Leather Photo Album Dated from the 1870's With CDV Photos & History with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This album is in very good condition for being at least 155 years old. The owner of the album from what I could detect was Helen E. Shattuck who was the sister of Edmund Lincoln Shattuck. Based on all the dates, the album dates to 1860's -1870's when she would be most likely to be using it. Some of the photo's go back to 1860's and the album could have been made as early as the 1840's. From my internet research, based on the newspaper clippings , the stamp on the back of one photo, and the civil war uniform worn in one photo, the family name written on a page, and finally the owners name engraved on the silver or silver plated oval on the front cover. I have enclosed a photo of the members of the family with there brith and death dates . The owner of the album from what I could detect was Helen E. Shattuck who was the sister of Edmund Lincoln Shattuck. One of the news clippings mentions the death of Edmund Lincoln Shattuck in 1888.  Helen was his sister who was about 39 years old at the time of his death. Her married name was Willard. I think the Shattuck family were from Vermont originally but might have expanded in the northern states base on the picture of a men in a Union uniform. Based on all the dates, the album dates to 1860's -1870's w hen she would be most likely to be using it. Album has 25 pages that can display two photo's per page. Each page has gold trim around it's edges. It must have been a high quality item in that time with all the embellishments. Check all photo's and feel free to ask questions. Thanks Condition: Used.
