Beautiful vintage carved shell cameo featuring a classical woman in profile holding a flower. The carving has wonderful dimensional detail, particularly in her upswept hair, facial features, clothing and floral motif. The cameo is carved from two-tone shell, with the creamy white portrait standing in relief against the natural warm peach/coral shell background. It is mounted in an ornate gold-filled frame with a twisted leaf/rope-style border. The reverse is fitted with both a brooch pin and pendant bail, allowing the piece to be worn as either a pin or necklace pendant. Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age-appropriate wear. The shell carving appears nicely preserved with strong detail.
