The collection ranges from a substantial rustic gathering basket to smaller handled baskets and a shallow tabletop basket. The baskets appear to incorporate a variety of traditional natural basketry materials and techniques, including willow/twig, cane, reed and bamboo-style elements. Because the baskets are unmarked, exact botanical materials and makers cannot be confirmed. The centerpiece of the collection is Basket A, a large rustic gathering basket with an irregular woody weave and tall handle. The six smaller baskets offer a wonderful mix of fine weaving, openwork details, wrapped handles, dark and natural finishes, and both handled and handle-free forms.
