This extra-large culinary vessel displays incredible history and old-world character, featuring deep, prominent hand-chiseled adze and curved gouge marks across the interior basin and flat end walls.Crafted via the traditional half-log manufacturing method, the bowl retains its beautifully smooth, natural log-rounded underside, indicating it was meant to sit securely on a workspace during heavy hand-kneading. Over generations of active kitchen use, the poplar wood has naturally oxidized from its original cream tone into a magnificent, deep amber-honey patina. The interior flat base retains historic knife/scraper scores and authentic traces of cloudy flour residue deeply embedded into the wood fibers—telltale signs of a true working antique rather than a modern decor reproduction. True to its poplar species, the piece is remarkably lightweight and stable for its substantial size.An exceptional focal piece or centerpiece for high-end farmhouse, primitive, or rustic interior design styles!
