This charming piece has a graceful handbag silhouette with a large, arched clear-glass handle and an intricately decorated pink glass body. The translucent pink glass is adorned with delicate pink trailing, colorful millefiori style floral elements, and dimensional clear-glass details. The combination of pink, blue, red, yellow, white, and clear glass creates a wonderfully whimsical and colorful design, while the ribbed clear-glass handle adds an especially striking sculptural element. The unusual purse form and elaborate glasswork make this a wonderful example of Italian decorative art glass. My best estimate is late 1960s to early 1970s, based on the style, construction, applied decoration, and overall design.
