Hand-carved white marble/alabaster elephant figurine in the traditional Indian pietra dura inlay style, trunk raised (a symbol of good luck in this craft tradition). Floral inlay design in semi-precious stone — appears to include lapis/blue stone and carnelian or coral-toned orange stone — set into the marble along the back, with a small round inlay accent near the eye. Measures approximately 2.5" long. Condition/damage: Visible crack/chip under the chin area ( There's also what looks like a small missing chip in one of the inlay flower petals (top left of the floral design).
