This is a later Ridgways production of William Ridgway’s historic Oriental design, most likely dating from circa 1891 to the early 20th century. Large antique Ridgways oval serving platter in the highly decorative Oriental pattern, made in England. Features an elaborate blue and white transfer-printed scene with palm trees, architecture, figures and landscape details, surrounded by floral decoration and six scenic border medallions. Finished with a scalloped rim. Backstamped RIDGWAYS / ORIENTAL / W.R. / ENGLAND with the distinctive urn-and-beehive device. This is a later Ridgways production of William Ridgway’s historic Oriental design, most likely dating from circa 1891 to the early 20th century. Measurements: Approximately 17” long × 14” wide. Condition: Antique pre-owned condition with overall glaze crazing, minor age-related discoloration and speckling, and light surface wear consistent with age.
