Soles show relatively light wear with substantial tread remaining. Vintage American-made men's leather lace-to-toe hiking/work boots, size 9M. Brand is unknown and these appear to have been produced as a private-label boot, but the construction and materials are exceptionally substantial. Made in the USA with a union-made interior stamp. Built in the classic heavy-duty American hiking/work boot tradition with thick brown leather uppers, lace-to-toe construction, metal eyelets and speed hooks, Goodyear welt construction, substantial leather midsoles, a thick slab of vegetable-tanned leather forming the insole/footbed, and vintage Vibram Depose Roccia Block lug soles. It should be noted these boots are quite narrow(measurements provided below) Unlike modern boots that often rely on foam or synthetic footbeds, these use a remarkably substantial piece of leather underfoot—an excellent example of the heavy, traditional materials used in quality American footwear of the period. The old-style Vibram Roccia Block soles give these a particularly interesting period appearance and remain in very good serviceable condition with deep tread. Very good vintage condition overall. Leather shows normal wear, creasing, scuffs, scratches and patina consistent with age and use, including darker wear at the toes. Soles show relatively light wear with substantial tread remaining.
