This is a stunning, authentic 1930-1940's genuine hornback alligator handbag. The front and back panels feature prominent, raised alligator osteoderms (horns) running down the center. This is a stunning, authentic 1930-1940's genuine hornback alligator handbag. This heirloom piece belonged to my grandmother and showcases the craftsmanship of the mid-century era. The front and back panels feature prominent, raised alligator osteoderms (horns) running down the center. The interior brass frame is stamped with F.B. & Co., a manufacturer highly regarded during the Art Deco era for premium metal-framed bags. I have done nothing but use a little leather conditioner to moisturize the hide. The handle has noticeable cracking and dryness. The edges show some wear. The bag is not attached to the frame on one corner. The brass shows age tarnish and the clasp closes securely. The interior is pretty clean with no major staining. This is a vintage piece, so please study the photos and ask any questions. This bag is a great piece in the current condition, but would be amazing with some light restoration.
