Design & Technique: This vase is executed in the highly collectible  Musen Shippo  (wireless cloisonné) technique . Unlike standard cloisonné where wire boundaries remain visible, wireless cloisonné requires the artist to painstakingly apply enamels inside wire frames and then pull the wires out before firing. This creates a beautifully fluid, watercolor-like transition. Beneath the deep, glossy jade-green enamel glaze, you can see a  subtle silhouette of a foliate/floral scroll pattern shifting dynamically under direct lighting. The top and bottom rims are heavily mounted with pristine silver-toned metal trim.  Condition: The piece is in  excellent antique condition . There are no nicks, cracks, chips, or hairlines anywhere on the body. The Monochrome Style:  During the Taisho and early Showa eras (1920s–1930s), Ando mastered translucent single-color enamels layered over low-relief chased designs or created using hidden  musen  wire structures. Jade green, turquoise, and "pigeon blood" red were among their most iconic color palettes.   Signature Marks:  While some masterpieces bear an inlaid silver wire wireframe mark of the Ando emblem (the 4-lobed  shippo  motif) on the base, a massive portion of these monochrome/wireless luxury export vases were completely unsigned or bore faint stamps under the rims that wear off over time.
