Dramatic oversized hand-blown art glass centerpiece bowl/platter featuring a saturated ruby-red body with sweeping yellow, amber, and subtle green abstract swirls. The underside has a polished circular pontil area, consistent with hand-blown construction. The decoration has wonderful movement across the broad surface, with the pattern stretching and distorting through the deep central well and giving the piece a very sculptural appearance from different angles. This is a substantial piece of studio glass at approximately 18–18.5 inches across and nearly 8 pounds. The underside has a polished circular pontil area, consistent with hand-blown construction. No maker attribution is being made. Very good pre-owned condition overall. Light surface wear consistent with age and display may be present, what I believe to be remnant adhesive from the original sticker around the polished pontil area on the underside.
