This is the third of 4 Mother's Day plates from Royal Copenhagen, with motifs of mothers from different parts of the world. Royal Copenhagen released its first Mother's Day plate in 1971. Until 1974 the plates represented a stylized version of a mother with child from different parts of the world, designed by Kamma Svensson. From 1975 till 1977 it was Arne Ungermann who showed his versions of motherhood on the plates, followed by the famous drawings by Ib Spang Olsen who had the same honor until 1982 .
