These translucent china plates are in the Art Nouveau style. They have a soft glossy finish. The mark on the bottom which includes Vienna Austria is the mark of a famous importer. They are a perfect choice for any formal occasion or special family occasion and would fit in beautifully with similar Thomas Bavaria tableware even if not the exact pattern (such as a different flower.). These antique 6" plates are hand-painted with a pink rose pattern and a soft blue band. They have two gold rims with a subtle pattern on the gold. These translucent china plates are in the Art Nouveau style. They have a soft glossy finish. The mark on the bottom which includes Vienna Austria is the mark of a famous importer. They were actually made by Thomas Bavaria and were produced in Germany during, or immediately preceding, the Edwardian era. They exemplify the Arts and Crafts movement's emphasis on hand painted and decorated china. They will also work well as accent pieces with other white or delicately decorated china patterns. These beautiful plates are up to 135 years old. Even though, and perhaps because, they have stood the test of time they should be hand washed only to preserve their beauty into the future. These lovely antique plates are in excellent condition. The paint and gilding is almost pristine. One plate has the tiniest chip on the very edge the size of a baby mosquito but it is almost unnoticeable.
