View Vtg Alaskan Native American Child's Moccasins, Mittens, Hat, Muff, Collar 1940's with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Moccasins and mittens are lined with an off-white flannel-like material. The muff has a zipper that's period-correct and hand-sewn in. Seams are well hidden, but I do believe the moccasins and mittens were hand-sewn. These items were presented at auction as being "WWII Aleutian Island" items. I'm far from an expert on Native American clothing, so please enlarge all my photos for a close look, ask any questions. Seams are well hidden, but I do believe the moccasins and mittens were hand-sewn. I can say for certain all the items have quite a lot of age to them, but whether the previous owner assembled this group of clothing or not I can't say.   Moccasins and mittens are lined with an off-white flannel-like material. The muff has a zipper that's period-correct and hand-sewn in. The muff also has a gathered sateen-like material used back then but I don't know if it was used by Alaskan Native Americans.  Some of the seams look machine-stitched to me, but then again my grandmother's hand stitching was nearly indistinguishable from machine stitching.    I do believe all the fur is authentic.    Moccasins are 8 1/2" long. Mittens are 5" long. Hat is 9" front to back with a sateen-like lining and chin strap with snap.   As far as condition, the leather pieces are pliable, seams are intact. Fur is loosing a few hairs but overall well intact.    I do guarantee these items to be old and not modern reproductions. If not, I will refund the purchase price and original shipping cost. I can't make any further guarantees so please ask questions in advance. These will be carefully packaged and shipped no later than the weekend following receipt of payment, depending on where my work takes me but usually within 48 hours.   Stated shipping is for the lower 48 states.
